No. 5 Yale looks to bounce back from a loss at UMass last week by going across the country to take on Michigan at Costa Mesa, Calif., in the Pacific Coast Classic. This will be the first time that Yale or Michigan have participated in the classic. The opening face-off at LeBard Stadium on the campus of Orange Coast College is set for 10 p.m. ET on Saturday.Â
SERIES
Yale holds a 3-0 series lead against Michigan. The two met last season in another neutral site game, part of the Atlanta College Lacrosse Classic at Grady Stadium, ending in a 17-11 Elis win. They met in 2018 at New Haven, a 15-11 Bulldog victory, while the first game was a 13-7 Yale victory at Ann Arbor in 2014.Â

LAST YEAR
The Bulldogs and Wolverines met in the Atlanta College Lacrosse Classic with Yale taking a 17-11 victory. The Bulldogs used a six-goal run during the second and third quarter to secure the victory. The Bulldogs had five multi-goal scorers on the day, including a four-goal performance from
Brian Tevlin.
Jack Starr was solid in net, making a season-high 10 saves.Â

BULLDOGS
The Bulldogs, who opened with wins at Villanova and No. 1 Penn State, are coming off a 13-10 loss at UMass as part of the season-opening, five-game road swing. The offense at Amherst was paced by five goals from
Matt Gaudet, and four others found the net against a strong Minutemen defense.
TD Ierlan was effective at the X, going 20-26 while scooping 14 ground balls.Â

WOLVERINES
Michigan, 3-2 overall, is coming off a 16-11 win over St. John. The win saw a four-goal performance from Clay Bryce. The Wolverines also have wins over Canisius and Cleveland State with losses at Hofstra and at home against Merrimack.Â
