NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 12-ranked Yale University men's lacrosse team returns home to Reese Stadium on Saturday, March 5 at 1 p.m., as the Bulldogs take on (rv) UMass, live on ESPN+.
The Bulldogs (1-1) are coming off their first loss of the season on the road at Penn State, 10-6, and look to rebound at home where the Elis defeated then-No. 20 Villanova, 17-14, in the 2022 opener.
Attackman
Will Cabrera led the way for Yale last Saturday with a hat trick against the Nittany Lions. Cabrera is second on the team with five goals and seven points while
Matt Brandau paces the squad with six goals and eight points. Senior captain
Brian Tevlin owns the team lead with three assists.
In the circle,
Nicholas Ramsey has led the way with 21 wins and 12 groundballs while Tevlin and
Bryce De Muth are tied for second with seven contested pickups.
Jack Stuzin owns a team-high seven caused turnovers through two games.
In goal,
Jared Paquette has made two starts with 25 saves a 12.0 goals against average.
About UMass
The Minutemen (1-2) have also had a challenging slate to open the season with road losses to the then-No. 10 Army and (rv) Boston University. UMass earned a 19-9 home-opening win over UMass-Lowell in week two.
15 players have scored for UMass as Grant Breyo and Gabriel Procyk each have a team-high five goals. Kevin Tobin paces the team with 11 points on four goals and a team-leading seven assists.
Caleb Hammett has taken charge in the circle with 37 wins on 63 attempts with 25 groundballs. Matt Knote has started all three games in goals and has a 12.75 goals against average with 30 saves.
