GALES FERRY, Conn. – America's oldest intercollegiate rivalry, coming off a two-year absence, is renewed this weekend in the 155th rowing of the Yale-Harvard Regatta. The Bulldogs and Crimson, fresh off last weekend's national championship event, race four times including the only four-mile contest in the U.S.
Saturday's three YHR events air live on ESPN+ and can be heard on WICH 1310 AM and 94.5 FM.

Schedule
The fourth varsity, formerly known as the combination crews, competes for the Snider Cup on Friday at 6 p.m. Saturday's racing begins with the 3:45 p.m. third varsity eights in a two-mile contest. The three-mile 2V race follows with the penultimate four-mile varsity showdown likely to begin at 5:30. All the races are upstream and finish at Bartlett's Cove near the big painted rock.

What's at Stake
This will be the first YHR in three years. The Eli varsity has won three straight and four out of five (no contest in 2016). Harvard's 2V has won three of the last four, while its 3V finished first 12 of the last 13 races against the Blue.

Series Records
1V (Sexton Cup): H leads 95-58 (1 no result)
2V (F. Valentine Chappell Trophy): H leads 77-39
3V/frosh (New London Cup): H leads 75-40-1

Looking Back at IRAs
Yale captured the Ten Eyck Memorial Trophy for overall supremacy at the 2022 IRA National Championship after having two of its three boats win Gold medals on Mercer Lake. The Ten Eyck and Yale's 2V and 3V national championships were all firsts for the storied program, while the Eli varsity took a Silver in the grand final on Sunday.

The Last Time on the Thames
The 2019 Yale varsity capped a national championship season by winning the four-mile race on the Thames with a time of 18:30.9, almost five seconds faster than Harvard. The Elis also won the Snider Cup but lost the 2V and 3V contests.

Elis in 2022
The Elis have had another prolific Spring, capped by a Ten Eyck Trophy. The Eastern and Ivy League Champion 1V has finished first in every Cup event, though there was a disqualification in the Carnegie Cup. When healthy, the varsity, which has three Olympians (captain Jack Lopas, Dan Williamson, Andrin Gulich), consists of three seniors, three juniors and three first years, while five different countries are represented in the boat.  The 2V and 3V, who have not lost a race this spring, are IRA national, Eastern and Ivy League champions
