LAST WEEKEND
Yale (3-7, 0-2 Ivy League) suffered a pair of one-goal losses to nationally ranked teams last weekend, falling to then-No. 14 Harvard 3-2 on Friday and at then-No. 17 UMass 2-1 on Sunday on a penalty shootout after the teams were tied 1-1 following the second overtime.
SHOOTING STARS
Yale had 23 shots and 15 shots on goal in Sunday's game at then-No. 17 UMass. That was the most shots and shots on goal the Minutewomen have allowed all season – topping the totals posted by Northwestern, currently ranked No. 2 in the NFHCA poll (19 shots and 12 shots on goal in a regulation time 3-0 win vs. UMass Sept. 9). The last time the Bulldogs had that many shots and shots on goal in a game was Oct. 30, 2021 in a
4-0 win vs. Dartmouth (30 shots, 19 shots on goal).
BUSY BULLDOGS
Saturday's game marks the end of a stretch of four games in nine days for the Bulldogs – including three against ranked teams and three on the road with a total of approximately 880 miles of travel. It is the busiest nine-day stretch of the season. After Saturday the Bulldogs have a stretch of 12 days in which they play only one game. For the remainder of the regular season after Saturday they have only one road game left, a relatively brief trip to Columbia Friday Oct. 20.
