NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior
Raegan Walker (Temecula, Calif.) of the Yale gymnastics team has been named Gymnastics East Conference Co-Gymnast of the Week. The conference announced the award on Wednesday.
Walker helped Yale win the Tonry Invitational Sunday at Lee Amphitheater with a 9.850 on bars, the highest score on that event among all three teams. She scored a 9.725 on beam (fourth on the team) and a 9.675 on vault (tied for third on the team).
This is the second season for the Gymnastics East Conference, which features eight of the top gymnastics programs on the East Coast: Bridgeport, Brown, Cornell, Penn, Southern Connecticut, West Chester, William & Mary and Yale.
Walker is the second Bulldog to earn a weekly honor from the GEC this season. Junior
Sarah Wilson (Alpharetta, Ga.) was named Gymnast of the Week Feb. 1.
Yale competes at George Washington Friday at 7:00 p.m.
