ITHACA, N.Y. – The Yale women's gymnastics team wrapped up the 2026 season with a runner-up finish at the Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) Championships on Saturday evening at Cornell. The Bulldogs scored 194.625 to conclude a memorable and historic season.
First year Annie Bilbe and assistant coach Isabelle Fox took home postseason awards for the Bulldogs.
Penn won its fifth straight GEC Championship with a 195.025. Yale finished as runner-up for the fourth consecutive time. Brown placed third, followed by Cornell.
Postseason Awards
Annie Bilbe won GEC Newcomer of the Year after a fantastic debut season for the Bulldogs. Bilbe has been strong all year on multiple events and was a First Team All-GEC honoree on floor. She won the GEC Newcomer of the Week award six times during the regular season. At the championships, Bilbe scored a 9.900, tied for the best mark at the event. Bilbe is the third straight Yale athlete to win the award, following teammates Ella Tashjian (2024) and Hailey Kriz (2025).
Isabelle Fox earned GEC Assistant Coach of the Year honors after helping lead the team to its fourth-straight runner-up finish. The Bulldogs finished with a team score of 194 or above in nine meets, a new program record. Fox, in her third season as an assistant coach, has led Yale to improved results in every event, and several program records have been set during her tenure.
Top Performers
• Bilbe and sophomore Ellie Kearns were crucial for the Bulldogs on floor, scoring identical marks of 9.900. The two scores helped Yale move past Brown on the final score sheet.
• Kearns also excelled on bars, scoring a 9.775, the third-highest mark at the meet.
Meet Notes
• Yale will graduate a strong senior class: Gigi Sabatini, Lauren Holt, Hana Strause, Meredith Donovan, and Megan Brueck.
• Sophomore Lauren Burt was the Bulldogs' top performer on vault with a 9.775.
• Strause ended her collegiate career with a great performance on beam, scoring a 9.850, the third-highest mark at the meet.
• Yale finished the year with an NQS of 194.438.
