WORCESTER, Mass. – For the seventh-consecutive time, the Yale men's heavyweight crew team captured the Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges (EARC) Sprints Championship. The races were hosted by the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester. In addition to the Eastern Sprints title, the Bulldogs also secured the 2023 Ivy League Championship.
Yale's 1V has now captured titles in 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 1982, 1981, 1979, 1978, 1958, 1954, 1951, and 1948. The EARC Sprints were not held in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. They also tied with Penn in 1962. This year's win makes the Bulldogs' total at 13.5, which is second all-time in EARC Sprints history. The 3V boat, who took first place this year, has now won gold in 2019 and 2023.
