BROOKVILLE, N.Y. -- The Yale gymnastics team placed third overall and first on floor at the Long Island University meet. They put up a strong performance with a total score of 192.350. Sophomore Gigi Sabatini took home the second highest all-around event score. Ella Tashjian also won the floor title during the meet.
Sabatini finished with an all-around score of 37.745 and was the Bulldogs' top performer in the vault. Sarah Wilson was the second-highest performer on vault with a 9.750.
Chloe DeJoy was the strongest performer on bars with a 9.775 while Wilson also put up a solid 9.700.
Wilson was also the Bulldogs' top performer on beam with a 9.675 while Emma Mangiacapre put up the second highest score amongst the bulldogs with 9.550.
The Bulldogs had an exceptional performance with a 49.225, a tremendous feat on the apparatus. All six Bulldogs scored above a 9.775. Tashjian scored the highest score in the whole competition with a 9.900. Senior Sherry Wang placed second on the apparatus with a 9.875.
The Bulldogs will host its first competition on Jan. 28 against the University of Pennsylvania.
