NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The majority of the Yale women's track and field team opened their 2024-2025 indoor campaign at home in Coxe Cage on Saturday. The meet, known as the Yale Season Opener, featured a mix of sprinters, throwers, middle-distance runners, and a distance squad, all intent on making a statement. Overall, the Yale women won 10 events, including the 4x400m relay at the end of the meet.

The Bulldogs:
- Senior Makalya Harris doubled back in the weight throw after competing at the UConn Husky Challenge the day before. Harris won the event with a personal record of 17.31m.
- In the shot put, first year Anna Siciliano earned first place for Yale with a mark of 13.01m – just over 42 feet.
- With her time of 8.56 seconds, sophomore Lucija Grd matched her own school record in the 60m hurdles, winning the event.
- Sophomore Juliette Kosmont won the 60m dash in a time of 7.56 seconds, just 0.04 off of her school record of 7.52.
- Senior Bridget Vitu won the 200m with a personal record of 25.54. First year Elaine Hudacsko finished right behind her in second place, flying through the line in 25.56 seconds.
- In the 400m, sophomore Victoria Guerrier crossed the line in first place with a personal record. Her time of 54.86 was more than a second faster than the next finisher.
- The Yale women took the top eight spots in the mile. Junior Carmel Fitzgibbon won the event with a personal record of 4:49.07. Ftizgibbon also doubled back to set another personal record of 2:53.06 with her win in the 1k.
- Yale also won the 3k, which was the longest event of the day. Junior Linde Fonville finished first with a personal record of 9:37.85, followed closely by sophomore Hebe Chadwick in 9:47.33.

- After this busy weekend, the Bulldogs will have a break before their next competition. Yale's next race will be in 2025, when the team travels to Dartmouth for the Yale-Dartmouth-Columbia Tri-meet on Saturday, Jan. 18.
