Yale Wins Bar, Tashjian Wins Floor at Rutgers

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Yale gymnastics team won the uneven bars event at the Rutgers meet against the host school and the University of Pennsylvania. The Bulldogs totaled 193.950 to place third overall.
 
Yale started on beam and totaled 48.925. Hana Strause had the highest score for Yale with a 9.700. Her routine highlight was a front aerial to split jump. Gigi Sabatini tied her score with a 9.700; she stuck 1.5 layout twist dismount.  
 
The Bulldogs moved to the floor exercise, where they scored a 49.075. Ella Tashjian stuck her double back on floor and got the highest score of 9.900. Chloe Dejoy followed with a 9.825. Her 1.5 twisting layout and punch front layout was the highlight of her routine.
 
Yale totaled a 48.550 on vault with Lily Aucoin scoring the highest score, 9.800. She nailed her full twisting layout Yurchenko. Sarah Wilson followed with a full twisting tuck Yurchenko, scoring a 9.725.
 
Yale's last event was also their most triumphant- the uneven bars. The team totaled 48.925. Wilson, DeJoy, and Sherry Wang tied for the highest score, 9.825. Wilson's highlight was a straddled tkatchev;  Wang stuck her full twisting double back dismount. DeJoy performed an impressive piked jaeger.
 
Yale will compete in one of their most important meets, the GEC Championship, on Saturday, March 22.
