PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The Yale gymnastics team competed in its second weekend of the year at a quad meet hosted by the University of Pennsylvania on Friday evening. The Bulldogs placed third with a final score of 191.500.
Towson was the top team at the event, scoring 195.600, followed by Penn at 193.225. Ursinus rounded out the quad with a total of 188.425.
Notable Performance
- Lauren Luu was a standout performer for the Bulldogs on bars. In Yale's final rotation, the sophomore recorded a 9.925 on the apparatus to lead all competitors at the meet.
- Luu's score is tied for the second-highest in program history, alongside Jessica Wang (2019) and Kathryn Fong (2004). Lauren Holt and Gigi Sabatini also registered identical 9.725 scores on bars.
Team Recap
- Yale led off on beam, scoring a total of 48.200, the team's best apparatus score of the quad. First year Hailey Kriz led the way with a 9.750.
- The Bulldogs moved to the floor where Ella Tashjian performed well, earning a 9.800, tied for the second-best score of the meet.
- On vault, Sabatini was the Elis' top performer with a 9.725. The junior competed in each event, tallying an overall score of 38.450.
