Ava Poinsett has been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the sixth time in 2025, and junior middle blocker
Laurece Abraham has won Ivy League Co-Player of the Week, as announced on Monday, Nov. 17.
In a weekend sweep of Cornell and Columbia, Poinsett recorded 30 total kills on .306 hitting, five service aces and 17 digs. In the same games, Abraham racked up 28 kills on .543 hitting and five total blocks.
Poinsett currently leads the Bulldogs in kills (291) and service aces (36), and is second on the team in digs (196). Abraham is first on the team in total blocks (78) and hitting percentage (.430), and is second in kills (229).
Poinsett is the first Bulldog since at least 2006 to win six Rookie of the Week nods from the Ivy League.
The Bulldogs now look ahead to the Ivy League Tournament in Princeton, NJ from Nov. 21-22. Yale will face off against No. 2 Cornell in the semifinal round on Nov. 21 at 7 p.m.
