Entering the Tournament
Yale (14-8, 10-4 Ivy) has won four straight entering the Ivy League Tournament. The Bulldogs have won all three Ivy League postseason tournaments since the conference restarted the event in 2022. Yale enters the 2025 tournament as the No. 3 seed and will face No. 2 seed Cornell in a rematch of last year's semifinal match. No. 1 seed and host Princeton will face No. 4 seed Brown in the other semifinal match. The winner of the tournament receives the Ivy League's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Four Bulldogs Earn All-Ivy; Poinsett Wins Rookie of the Year

Laurece Abraham earned All-Ivy First Team and classmate
Arya Jue was selected to the second team, the league office announced on Thursday. Team captain
Halle Sherlock was named Academic All-Ivy.

Abraham Among Nation's Best
Junior
Laurece Abraham is among the most accurate hitters in the nation. She finished 11
th in all of Division I with a .430 hitting percentage in all matches, second in the Ivy League in conference matches. As a team, the Bulldogs rank 23
rd in the nation in hitting percentage.
Poinsett Makes First-Year Statement
First-year
Ava Poinsett earned unanimous Ivy League Rookie of the Year and All-Ivy First Team after being selected Ivy League Rookie of the Week six times during the regular season. Poinsett finished the Ivy season ranked tied for first in service aces per set (0.44), second in the league in kills per set (3.55), and third in points per set (4.12). She also led the team in total service aces and finished second in digs with 196.
Defense Served
The Bulldogs led the Ivy League in opponents' service aces per set. Yale allowed the least amount of service aces per set at 1.06, while the next best team allowed 1.42.
Head Coach Erin Appleman
Erin Appleman, who was named Yale's head coach in 2003, is one of the most successful coaches in Ivy League history in any sport. She has guided the Bulldogs to an unprecedented 13 Ivy titles, 10 NCAA Tournament appearances, six 20+ win seasons and was the first Ivy coach to lead a team to an NCAA Tournament victory. Appleman, the winningest coach in Yale volleyball history and the sport's all-time leader in Ivy League titles, has guided the Bulldogs to the first- or second-best Ivy record in 20 of the last 21 seasons. She completed the 2025 regular season with a career record of 397-145 and a .732 winning percentage. In Ivy League play, she is a remarkable 249-58 with an .811 winning percentage -- by far the best in Yale history.
Scouting Opponents
The Bulldogs finished 1-1 this season against each of the other three teams in the Ivy League Tournament. Last weekend, Yale defeated Cornell (15-9, 10-4) 3-0 in New Haven. Yale hit .392 for the match and team captain
Halle Sherlock dished out 43 assists.
Arya Jue led the Bulldogs with 16 digs, and the Bulldogs held a 41-27 edge in the match. Back on Oct. 11, the Big Red defeated the Bulldogs 3-0 in Ithaca, in a match where Yale pushed the third set to 30-28. Jue had a season-high 20 digs and
Laurece Abraham had a team-best 11 kills and hit .400.
