Ohman Named to National Pitcher of the Year Watchlist

OVERLAND PARK, Kansas -- First year Jack Ohman of the Yale baseball team has been named to the Pitcher of the Year Watchlist, as announced by the College Baseball Hall of Fame on Friday afternoon. A total of 54 of the nation's best hurlers, representing 20 different conferences, are on the list and reflect the top mound performers to this point of the 2025 season.

Ohman has been extraordinary in his debut season with the Bulldogs, asserting himself as one of the top pitchers in the country. The Arizona native leads the nation with a microscopic 0.19 ERA, allowing a single earned run over 47.1 innings pitched. Ohman also ranks second in the nation in WHIP (0.76) and fourth in hits allowed per nine innings (4.75). The first year is a big reason for the Bulldogs' success this season. Ohman sports a 5-0 record on a Yale squad that has already matched its highest win total since 2022.

Ohman is the only Ivy League player and one of four first year athletes to be named to the watchlist. He has earned weekly conference accolades six times this season. Ohman tops the Ivy League in wins (5), ERA (0.19), strikeouts (55), and opposing batting average (.157).

2024 Yale team captain and Duke graduate transfer, Reid Easterly, was also named to the watchlist.
