Ohman Chosen as Perfect Game College Freshman Pitcher of the Year

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The offseason honors continue to roll in for Yale first year Jack Ohman. The Bulldogs starting pitcher was named Perfect Game College Freshman of the Year as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon. Ohman was also selected as a First Team All-American.

Ohman is the second Freshman All-American in program history after Scott Politz achieved the honor in 2016.

Ohman had an unbelievable debut season on the mound for the Bulldogs. The Arizona native was honored as the top pitcher in the Ivy League and proved himself as one of the best hurlers in the nation. Ohman ranks first in the NCAA with a minuscule 1.34 ERA. Ohman tossed 73.2 innings, recording an 8-1 record, helping lead the Bulldogs to a share of the regular season Ivy League Championship. Ohman ranked in the top three in the conference in ERA, wins, innings pitched, opposing batting average (.162), and strikeouts (78).

Ohman was also a semifinalist for both the Golden Spikes Award and National Pitcher of the Year as well as ECAC Pitcher of the Year. He was recently named to the Division I ABCA All-Region team.
