Bulldogs Win Fourth Consecutive Ivy League Title; Finish Second at Team Race Nationals

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Yale women's sailing team continues to reach unprecedented levels of success in the Ivy League, winning its fourth consecutive conference championship. The Bulldogs were crowned as Ivy League champions after registering a runner-up finish at the ICSA Women's Team Race National Championships The highest finisher in the event is crowned as conference champion.

Yale finished with a 15-2 record, just behind Stanford who concluded the two-day event with a 16-1 record. The Cardinal won the national championship regatta for the second consecutive year with the Bulldogs finishing as runner-up both times. The two teams have dominated the Team Race National Championship over the past four years, combining for all four wins and three runner-up finishes.

The Bulldogs won their fourth consecutive Ivy championship and are the only title holders in conference history since the award was inaugurated in 2022.

The two-day championship regatta kicked off on Sunday, with extremely breezy conditions in Providence. The wind initially came from the West and eventually shifted further north as the day went on. In the morning, the wind held at a consistent 10-15 knots with puffs in the low twenties, and by the afternoon, the breeze climbed to 13-22 knots with puffs into the high-twenties, low thirties. Yale sailed in nine races during the first portion of the Round of 12, going undefeated with wins over all of its conference foes.

On Monday, the wind was much lighter from the Northwest. At the start of the day, the wind was 9-10 knots with puffs in the teens, but by the end of the day, the breeze was 4-6 knots with puffs ranging from 10-12 knots. The Bulldogs concluded the Round of 12 and moved on to the Round of 6, only losing to Stanford in head-to-head competition. After advancing to the final Round of 4, Yale defeated Harvard before the race was called due to the lack of wind at the end of the day.
