NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Defenseman
Eddie Qu '25 from the Yale men's lacrosse team was selected by the San Diego Seals with the 68th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2025 National Lacrosse League draft.
The San Diego Seals, a member of the National Lacrosse League's West Conference, have quickly become one of the league's most successful young franchises since their founding in 2018. The team has made multiple playoff appearances, including a trip to the West Conference Finals, and has consistently been among the top contenders in the league. Led by a mix of veteran stars and dynamic young talent, the Seals are known for their fast-paced, physical style of play and strong home-court presence at Pechanga Arena, where they've built one of the most passionate fan bases in the NLL.
Qu earned the Donald J. Reape Memorial Team Award in 2025, recognizing his impact and contributions to the program. The honor, presented annually by Donald J. Reape, goes to the underclassman who best embodies the character, spirit, dedication, hard work, and enthusiasm that defined his son Don's legacy with Yale lacrosse. On the field, Qu has delivered in key moments — netting a goal in the 2023 home victory over Dartmouth, contributing two ground balls against Boston University, and recording his first career goal in another win over Dartmouth in 2022.
