NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Coming off a 2-0 weekend, the Yale men's hockey team saw a pair of players earn weekly honors from ECAC Hockey. James Shannon was named Rookie of the Week, while Noah Pak earned MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week recognition.
Shannon received the honor after a standout weekend in Yale's road sweep of RPI and Union. Against the Engineers, the first-year forward scored a shorthanded goal in the second period to extend Yale's lead and later added an assist on Kalen Szeto's third-period tally.
Shannon followed that performance on Saturday at Union, scoring the eventual game-winning goal early in the third period before sealing the 4-1 victory with an empty-net goal.
Pak earned his second Goalie of the Week honor of the season after posting a perfect 2-0-0 record on the road against RPI and Union. The sophomore netminder turned aside 57 shots over the two games, allowing just four goals for a .943 save percentage.
The Bulldogs return home this weekend to host the Connecticut Ice Tournament, opening play against UConn on Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
