NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Yale coed and women's sailing teams will begin the 2026 Spring season at regattas in Providence, R.I., hosted by Brown University. The coed squad will sail for the O'Keefe Trophy.
Looking Back
Both teams had highly successful Spring campaigns in 2025. The coed team finished second and fourth at the team race and fleet race national championships, respectively. The women's squad had similar success, yielding identical results at their national championship events. The Bulldogs finished second in the Fowle Cup standings – the combined results of all national championship events – just behind Stanford. Yale graduated several highly impactful seniors, including All-Americans Jack Egan, Mia Nicolosi, Carmen Cowles, Emma Cowles, and Ximena Escobar.
Moving Forward
Despite the loss of a strong senior class, the Bulldogs will return a core contingent that has experienced immense success in their collegiate careers. Senior Sarah Moeder is the reigning three-time Ivy League Crew of the Championship award winner. She is also a three-time All-American and is expected to replicate that success heading into her final Spring season. Yale also returns All-Americans Julia Miller, Ashley Highland, and Elle Sykes.
New Faces
The Bulldogs welcome seven first-year sailors to the roster: Walker Cox, Ella Benedetto, Maren Bradley, Beatrice Formenton, Carly Kieding, Margaret Ratzan, and Matilda Twigg.
New Captains
Sykes and Mathias Reimer will serve as captains for the Spring season.
