Box Score The Bulldogs on Saturday made it five wins in a row with a 7-4 victory at Cornell in chilly Ithaca.
Tim DeGraw and Simon Whiteman went a combined 5 for 10 with four runs scored, and Scott Politz won his second straight start with a solid seven-inning performance for Yale. The Bulldogs improved to 5-2 in the Ivy League and 9-14 overall.
The two teams are scheduled to play a doubleheader tomorrow at a time to be announced.
DeGraw, who now has 21 runs scored on the season, singled to lead off the game and stole second. Simon Whiteman followed with a bunt single to advance DeGraw to third.
Benny Wanger lifted a sac fly to left to score DeGraw for the first run of the game. Cornell (5-12, 1-3 Ivy) tied the game in the second.
In the third, the Bulldogs came out swinging and plated three runs. Whiteman doubled home DeGraw,
Wanger followed with a walk before Griffin Dey singled home Whiteman. Wanger went first to third on the play and scored after the next batter, Alex Stiegler, flied out to score him and make it 4-1.
Politz did not allow a run after the second and struck out seven with temperatures in the upper 30s. He improved to 3-2 on the season.
Tom Fuller, who went 2 for 4, added an RBI double in sixth and Stiegler extended his hit streak to six games with a run-scoring single in the ninth.
