NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Erik Supplee has joined the Yale baseball staff as program's new pitching coach, as announced by Fay Vincent '31 Head Coach of Baseball Brian Hamm on Friday.

"I'm thrilled to welcome Erik Supplee to Yale Baseball as our new pitching coach," Hamm said. "Erik has built an outstanding reputation as one of the top pitching coaches in college baseball; his track record of developing elite pitchers speaks for itself. Throughout his coaching career, he's helped pitchers reach new levels of success, from standout collegiate performances to professional baseball."

Supplee brings nearly two decades of collegiate coaching experience to New Haven and has established himself as one of the nation's premier pitching coaches and recruiters. Throughout his career, he has helped guide teams to conference championships, NCAA Tournament appearances and postseason success while developing numerous all-conference and professional pitchers.

"Just as importantly, Erik brings valuable experience coaching in the Ivy League, so he understands the unique balance our student-athletes navigate while competing at the highest academic and athletic levels," Hamm said. He has been a key contributor to championship-winning programs, and he knows what it takes to build a pitching staff capable of competing for titles."

Supplee comes to Yale after spending the past four seasons at the University of San Francisco, where he served as the Dons' pitching coach. During his tenure, he played an integral role in the development of the pitching staff through advanced analytics, technology and individualized player development. His work helped several pitchers emerge among the West Coast Conference's top arms, including Joe Soberon, who earned All-WCC honors after lowering his ERA by nearly two runs under Supplee's guidance.

Prior to San Francisco, Supplee spent seven seasons as Columbia's pitching coach, helping lead the Lions to multiple Ivy League championships and NCAA Regional appearances. Columbia advanced to the Blacksburg Regional final in 2022 after defeating Gonzaga twice, while the Lions' pitching staff consistently ranked among the Ivy League's best during his tenure. In 2018, Columbia captured the Ivy League title after holding Yale to just one run over two games in the Ivy League Championship Series. Under his guidance, Harrisen Egly became the program's all-time saves leader and a three-time All-Ivy League selection, while Leo Pollack and Lucas Hall anchored one of the conference's top bullpens.

Supplee spent the 2015 season at Georgetown, where he guided the Hoyas to a program-record 3.95 team ERA and helped the program reach the BIG EAST Championship for the first time since 1986. Two Georgetown pitchers earned All-BIG EAST honors, marking the program's first all-conference pitching selections since 2007.

Before Georgetown, Supplee served on the Wake Forest coaching staff for two seasons. After serving as the Demon Deacons' director of operations in 2013, he was promoted to volunteer assistant coach in 2014. Wake Forest won 58 games during his two seasons in Winston-Salem and produced six MLB Draft selections, including five pitchers.

Supplee also spent two seasons as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at Lynchburg College, where he helped transform the Hornets into one of the top programs in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. Lynchburg lowered its team ERA in each of his two seasons, produced five All-ODAC pitchers and three All-South Region selections, and captured the 2012 ODAC Tournament championship while setting school and conference records with 34 victories. He also recruited and developed the 2011 ODAC Rookie of the Year and the 2012 Virginia State Rookie of the Year.
Supplee also coached at Longwood University in 2009, mentoring two pitchers who later signed professional contracts with the New York Yankees. He began his collegiate coaching career at Millersville University in 2008, helping the Marauders capture the PSAC East regular-season championship.

A four-year pitcher at Marist, Supplee compiled an 18-10 career record with a 3.79 ERA. He helped lead the Red Foxes to the 2005 MAAC regular-season and tournament championships and an NCAA Tournament appearance before earning his bachelor's degree in history in 2007.

"Beyond his baseball expertise, Erik is an exceptional mentor and teacher," Hamm said. "His character, competitive spirit, and passion for player development make him a tremendous fit for our program, and I couldn't be more excited to have him join our staff."
