Dey Launches 10th Homer of the Season in Loss at Sacred Heart

Box Score

Griffin Dey launched his 10th homer of the season on Wednesday in a 13-10 loss at Sacred Heart in Bridgeport, Conn.

Simon Whiteman went 4 for 6 with three runs scored, while Mason LaPlante went 2 for 4 with three runs and two walks. Dey opened the scoring with a three-run shot in the first to score LaPlante and Whiteman.

With the home run, Dey tied his career-high for most homers in a season at Yale.  After Yale scored three in the first inning, the Pioneers responded with seven in the bottom half of the frame.

Yale (14-22, 8-7 Ivy League) scored twice in the second with Tim DeGraw making it happen.  DeGraw drove in a run when he reached on a fielder's choice and eventually scored on a balk to cut Sacred Heart's lead to 7-5.  Yale would not get any closer.

Teddy Hague added two hits for Yale.

The Bulldogs return to action this Saturday to start a three-game series at Dartmouth.
