Box Score NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Yale extended its win streak to four with a 4-3 victory over Marist on Tuesday afternoon at George H.W. Bush '48 Field.
Tommy Martin delivered a two-out, two-run single to right to score
Carson Swank and
Jake Gehri to tie the game. Martin advanced to second on the throw to the plate, and scored when the next hitter,
AJ Gaich, singled to the left to give Yale the lead.
Reid Easterly tossed a scoreless sixth and seventh to earn his first win of the season.
Mick Kelley pitched the final two innings to earn the save.
The Bulldogs totaled four hits in the bottom of the first.
Mason LaPlante doubled to lead off the bottom of the first and advanced to third on a
Ben Metzner single.
LaPlante was thrown out at the plate following a rundown when
Alec Atkinson grounded into a fielder's choice. During the rundown, Metzner advanced to third and Atkinson advanced to second.
Jimmy Chatfield followed with a single to score Metzner and Atkinson was thrown out at the plate.
Marist scored three in the second off starter
Colton Shaw. It was the only runs Shaw allowed over five innings with five strikeouts.
Yale returns to action in Riverside, Calif., this weekend with three games at California Baptist University.
