NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Bulldogs host an Ivy League opponent for the second straight weekend with a three-game series against Brown. The series starts on Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Yale enters play 5-4 overall in league play after dropping two of three to Dartmouth last weekend.Â

Grant Kipp earned Ivy League Pitcher of the Week for his efforts against Dartmouth last week. The honor marked the second of the year for a Bulldog pitcher (
Mike Walsh).Â
Kipp limited the Big Green to three hits and one run in the Bulldogs' 5-1 win. He earned his third win of the season, striking out seven and walking only one.

Kipp leads the Ivy League in innings pitched (41.2) and is tied for second in wins with three. He is seventh in strikeouts (40). In league games he has 23 strikeouts and just six walks in 21.1 innings.
At the plate,
Jake Gehri leads the conference in homers (6) and RBI (16) while hitting .324. As a team, the Bulldogs rank second in conference play with 15 homers. Â
Mason LaPlante recorded at least one hit in all three games last weekend against Dartmouth and is hitting a team-best .366 in conference play. He has 15 hits and 12 runs scored in nine Ivy games.
Jimmy Chatfield continues to impress in his rookie campaign. He has reached base in all 24 games this season and leads the team with a .337 batting average for the entire season.
Teddy Hague provided a lift last weekend. In three games against Dartmouth, he went 3 for 9 with a homer, double, four runs scored and three RBI. Â
As a team, Yale leads the Ivy League in fielding percentage (.974). Dartmouth is second at .964. Â
Up next, the Bulldogs travel to Quinnipiac on Wednesday and play at Columbia next weekend.Â
Scouting Brown
The Bears enter play 7-17 overall and 2-7 in league play after they dropped all three games to Columbia last week. Senior Zach Fogell held Columbia last weekend to one run over six innings with six strikeouts and earned a no decision. Fogell enters the weekend second in the conference with a 1.80 ERA in league play. Ryan Marra (.342) and Derian Morphew (.324) lead the team in hitting in Ivy games.Â
