NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- After winning two of three last weekend against Brown, the Bulldogs travel to Quinnipiac for a mid-week game on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
The Bulldogs are 16-11 overall and 9-6 in non-conference games.  In its last non-conference game, Yale defeated Sacred Heart 5-1 on March 30.Â
Wednesday's game marks a rematch from earlier this season. The Bulldogs defeated the Bobcats 19-7 on March 22. Â
All three games against the Bears last weekend were one-run games.  On Saturday,Â
Ben Metzner delivered the game winning single in a 3-2, 10th-inning victory in game one.  In game two.
Carson Swank broke a 6-6 tie in the 7th with a solo homer to left.
Jake Gehri and
Mason LaPlante enter the game on Wednesday with hitting streaks.  Gehri has a seven-game streak, while LaPlante has hit safely in six straight.
Jimmy Chatfield has reached base safely in all 27 games this season, and ranks 43rd in the nation with a .496 on-base percentage.  Metzner has a current streak of 22 games and is 7 for his last 18 at the plate.Â
As a team, the Bulldogs rank 51st in the nation in fielding percentage (.975).
Up next, the Bulldogs travel to Columbia for a three-game series.  It starts Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Scouting Quinnipiac
The Bobcats have won three of four entering Wednesday's game.  QU is 9-20 overall and 3-6 in the MAAC after winning two of three over Monmouth last weekend.  Quinnipiac is hitting .274 as a team and have two players hitting over .300 (Jared Zimbardo and Danny Melnick).   Â
