NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Following a two-week break, the Bulldogs will look to end the 2022 season on a winning note when they host Harvard for a three-game series beginning on Saturday. Â
The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 11:30 a.m. and a single game on Sunday at noon.Â
This weekend also marks the dedication of George H.W. Bush '48 Field, the dedication of the Jim Neil '76 Clubhouse and a ceremony to mark the retirement of head coach
John Stuper. On Sunday, Yale will honor its senior class.Â
Last time out, the Bulldogs dropped two of three to Penn. Yale enters the weekend 18-17 overall and 8-10 in Ivy League play.
Senior
Jake Gehri homered twice in the series against the Quakers. Gehri enters the weekend tied for the conference lead with 8 homers in Ivy League games.Â
Jimmy Chatfield, who leads Yale with a .315 batting average, begins the weekend with one of the longest streaks in the nation for reaching base. Chatfield has reached base in all 35 games in 2022.

Mason LaPlante are tied for the team lead with 39 hits each. LaPlante leads the team with 32 runs scored, including 15 in Ivy League games.
In the field,
Mike Walsh enters the weekend leading the Ivy League in strikeouts per conference game (11.54). As a team, the Bulldogs continue to lead the conference in fielding percentage.Â
Scouting Harvard
The Crimson are 9-9 in Ivy League play. Last Sunday, the Crimson defeated Penn, 4-3, in a makeup game. Harvard is hitting .296 in conference games. Logan Bravo leads the team with a .366 batting average, seven homers and 42 RBI. Â
Bush Field Dedication, Neil Clubhouse Dedication, John Stuper Retirement Ceremony Saturday
Following game one Saturday, there will be a ceremony on the field featuring all the former Bulldog players in attendance. The ceremony will include the dedication of George H.W. Bush '48 Field and the dedication of the Jim Neil '76 Clubhouse. It will also honor head coach
John Stuper, who is retiring at the conclusion of this season after leading the Bulldogs for 30 years.
Bush Field Renovation
During 2020 and 2021, a major project was completed at Bush Field to restore and recreate the exterior facade of the building. The goal was to reinstate the original look and intention of the historic stadium while also completing repairs to stabilize the exterior. In addition to the major exterior transformation, interior renovations took place to upgrade team storage areas, stadium signage and restrooms. These renovations have reestablished Bush Field as a great home for Yale Baseball for years to come.
