The Bulldogs begin a key three-game series at Dartmouth this Saturday. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday.
Here are some Bulldog notes heading into the weekend:
- The Bulldogs defeated Hartford 8-4 on Wednesday at Dunkin' Park home of the Double-A affiliate Hartford Yard Goats.
- Davis Hanson homered and went 2 for 3 on Wednesday. He has hit safely in eight straight games and is 15 for his last 33 (.455). Hanson also ranks third in conference in batting average (.417) in Ivy League games.
- Yale enters the weekend ranked seventh in the nation in fielding percentage (.983).
- The Bulldogs rank 19th in the nation in stolen bases per game.
- The Bulldogs rank second in the conference in team ERA (3.73) in Ivy League games.
- Colton Shaw ranks second in the conference in strikeouts (27) in Ivy League games. He also has a 2.82 ERA over 22.1 innings in conference games with a .190 opposing batting average.
- Josh Richardson has not allowed a run in eight innings of conference play.
- The Bulldogs have drawn 53 walks in nine conference games – one off the Ivy lead (Princeton has 54).
- Jeff Pierantoni went 3 for 10 last week against Columbia and is hitting .324 in conference play.
Scouting Dartmouth
The Big Green enter the weekend 1-24 overall and 0-9 in conference play. Peter O'Toole ranks seventh in the conference with a .364 batting average in league games. Jackson Hower is hitting .345 in Ivy League competition. Dartmouth pitchers have walked 36 batters in league play – second least in the conference. Yale has walked the least with 24.
