The Bulldogs will honor its seniors this weekend and play three key conference games against Princeton. The series starts Friday with a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. Due to the weather forecast this weekend, senior day will take place on Monday at 11:40 a.m. and a single game beginning at 12 p.m.
Here are some Bulldog notes heading into the weekend:
- The Bulldogs dropped two of three last weekend at first-place Penn last weekend.
- Before the game on Saturday, the Bulldogs will honor Jimmy Chatfield, Quinn Cleary, Jamis DeKay, AJ Gaich, Dylan Kim, Ben Metzner and team captain Carson Swank.
- Reid Easterly, AJ Gaich and Davis Hanson earned spots on the Ivy League Weekly Honor Roll.
- Easterly tossed seven scoreless innings against Penn (the top hitting team in the conference) and earned his third win in Ivy League play.
- Gaich went 4 for 10 with three runs scored and two stolen bases at Penn.
- Gaich has a current team-best 10 game hit streak. Davis Hanson had a team-best 11 games in a row earlier this season.
- The Bulldogs enter the week ranked sixth in the nation and lead the Ivy League in fielding percentage.
- Yale ranks second in the Ivy League with a 3.32 ERA in 15 conference games.
Scouting Princeton
The Tigers enter the weekend as the top hitting team in the Ivy League after last week's action. Scott Bandura is second in the conference with a .439 batting average. Starting pitcher Tom Chmielewski is one of two pitchers in the conference with four wins.
