Box Score - Game Two
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –
Reid Easterly tossed a complete game to lead the Bulldogs to a doubleheader split at Harvard on Saturday.
The lefty Easterly (6-2) went the distance in a 5-2 win in the opener. Yale dropped the second game 11-4 and finished the day 10-10 in the Ivy League.
Easterly allowed two runs and struck out three. The Yale offense did the rest in game one.
Jeff Pierantoni went 3 for 4 in game one with a RBI and run scored. Pierantoni tripled home
Davis Hanson to open the scoring in the third.
Jimmy Chatfield followed to drive home Pierantoni on a sac fly.
Yale scored three more times in the sixth.
Beck Milner and
Alec Atkinson had run-scoring singles, and
AJ Gaich added a sac fly. Milner and
Jake Williams both had two hits and a run scored in game one.
In game two, the Bulldogs carried some momentum into the contest and scored the first three runs. In the first inning, Gaich drew a lead-off walk and Hanson followed with a single.
Pierantoni dropped a sac bunt that led to a throwing error to score Gaich. Chatfield followed with a two-run single to the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead.
The Crimson tied the game with three in the bottom of the first. Hanson blasted a solo shot to left for his second homer of the season to put Yale back in front.
Harvard scored two in the fourth to retake the lead, and added five more runs combined in the fifth and sixth.
Hanson, Chatfield and Williams each had to hits in game two.
The two teams will close out the series tomorrow with a single game beginning at 12 p.m.
