BOSTON and NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's track and field team had a busy day Saturday with PRs from start to finish. The Bulldogs were split between Boston and a home meet. The men in Boston had a great day with multiple top 10 performances, which highlights the effort and commitment they have been putting in. At the Giegengack Invitational at Coxe Cage, the Bulldogs filled their home venue with noise and drove many teammates to PRs.

- The day started strong with the throws. There was fierce competition between Matt Appel and Nolan Recker in the weight throw, with Appel throwing 19.66 meters (just outside a PR) and Recker throwing 19.60. The consistent throws bode well for the Ivy League Championships. Chris Ward had a stellar day in the shot put, taking the win with a mark of 17.19 meters -- just outside his PR.
- In the jumps Isiah Udofia once again took the pit and had a leap of 7.38 meters, setting a massive new PR. This mark moves him up to sixth all-time at Yale. His consistent improvement sets him up well to attack Heps and look for a podium. In the triple jump, Brian Di Bassinga had a great day jumping 15.03 meters, just outside his PR but a solid improvement over the course of the season so far.
- The action on the track for the men began with the 1000 meters. Amaré Fields took the win in a solid time of 2:26.76 as he ran away from the field. Over the 60 meters, it was Kit Colson who set a big new PR of 6.80, placing him joint fourth on Yale's all-time list. Joining him on the top 10 was Cristian Pereira, who ran a new PR of 6.83 in the final to go seventh of all time.
- In the men's 800 meters it was Thomas Cirrito who took home the win in a very solid 1:50. He took the race from the front and never looked back. As he looks ahead to the Ivy League Championships some tough competition will be sure to push him sub 1:50.

- The day started strong with Martin Riddell in the 5k. He stormed around the track to a big new PR of 14:27. This performance set the tone for the rest of the day.
- This was backed up by a great performance from Aaron Miller in the 400 meters with a new PR of 47.81 to win the heat and to place him sixth of all-time at Yale. Only moments later Colin Quinn also won his heat in a PR of 47.68 to go fourth of all time. They will both now look to make the final at Heps.
- In the 1000 meters Austin Montini had an excellent race and came home in 2:24.98, a solid time that will translate well to the mile when the time comes.
- In the mile it was Leo Brewer who had an excellent race to set a new PR of 4:03. The solid tactical race put him right near the front and he just missed out on the win. Jack Sendek improved upon his PR, running 4:10 in a tightly contested heat. Ronan Luff ran a smart race to come home in a time of 4:12 in what was a big new PR.
- In the 3K Sean Kay ran a brave race to take to the front early on. He pushed the pace and just got caught to place second in a time of 8:06, which puts him on Yale's top 10 list. Kenan Pala also went in the 3k and set a new PR. This will give him a bit of speed prior to the pinnacle of the season taking place in two weeks' time.
Up next:
- The Bulldogs will have a week without competing before they head back to Boston for the Ivy League Championships which take place at Harvard Feb. 24-25. This is the meet which many have been building their seasons towards as they go head-to-head against their league competitors with the hopes of besting them.
