CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Yale men's track and field team began competition at the Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday at Harvard's Gordon Track. Multiple Bulldogs secured places in Sunday's finals in their respective events, and three Bulldogs earned points.

- The mile trials opened up the day. The Bulldogs showed their prowess with Winslow Atkeson and Owen Karas both progressing to Sunday's final, posting two of the top four times of the day. Both will be looking to challenge for the win after what has been a great year for them.
- Kit Colson ran a new PR of 6.79 to secure the automatic qualification for the 60m final. Jacob Kao ran well in that event to equal his PR, just missing out on the final. Kao came back later for the 200m and qualified for the final with a time of 21.81.
- In the longer sprints the Bulldogs fought well but just missed out on the finals. A mention must go to Colin Quinn, who ran 1:04 over the 500 meters to place second in his heat.
- The 800m was another notable event for the Bulldogs. Thomas Cirrito ran a strong tactical race to get the automatic qualification to Sunday's final. In the same heat, Amaré Fields ran a new PR of 1:52 to make it to the final. Over the 1k Braden King qualified for the final after a brave run to get a new PR of 2:24.
- In the 3000 meters Leo Brewer came home with a third-place finish in a new PR of 8:03, placing him fifth on Yale's all-time list. He earned six points for the team.
- Isiah Udofia was on fire again in the long jump, setting a 10cm PR of 7.48 meters to place fourth and earn four points. This performance moves him up to fourth on Yale's all-time list.
- The Bulldogs also secured a point in the weight throw, where Matt Appel took sixth with a throw of 19.68 meters. Nolan Recker had a solid day, placing eighth with a distance of 19.56 meters.
- The Bulldogs currently sit tied with Harvard in sixth (11 points) heading into day two. Penn leads with 24 points.
The Bulldogs return for day two of Heps Sunday, starting with the men's mile final at 12:40 p.m.
