ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Yale men's track and field team continued to show its strength Saturday on day two at UCF's Knights Invite. After an impressive outing in the Florida sun Friday, the Bulldogs carried their momentum into an action packed day of throws, sprints and middle distance competition Saturday. 

The Bulldogs:

• The day started off in style as captain Matt Appel secured Yale's second victory of the weekend in the discus in dominant fashion, winning by more than two meters with a 56.32m throw. Behind him, Christopher Ward, Nolan Recker and Nathan Lebowitz placed fourth, seventh and 15th respectively, with Ward's 51.86m effort representing an impressive new PR.
• The focus then moved towards the sprints, with a team of Cristian Pereira, Jacob Kao, Kit Colson and Isiah Udofia combining for a strong 41.04 in the 4x100m relay. A second team of Mason Evans, Andrew Fu, Andrew Farr and James Grindle joined together to notch a 41.41 clocking. Many of them also ran the individual 100m later on in the day, with Kao and Colson leading the way with times of 10.73 and 10.77 respectively. Pereira, Grindle, Fu and Evans all ran 11.20 or faster. In the other relay of the day, the 4x400m, Farr, Aaron Miller, Simon Jupp and Colin Quinn ran a lightning-fast 3:12.59. 
• Later on, the middle distance squad backed up yesterday's glorious 1500m showing with another demonstration of depth in the 800m. Thomas Cirrito's PR of 1:49.22 led the way, with a slew of PRs in his wake. Five other Bulldogs -- Owen Karas, Braden King, Calvin Katz, Amaré Fields and Tanish Chettiar -- ran faster than 1:52.50, with Winslow Atkeson and Brian Gamble also impressing just behind.
