Bulldogs Cruise to Second Consecutive Non-Conference Victory

Box Score NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale baseball team took care of business on Tuesday afternoon at Bush Field, defeating Saint Peter's 10-4. The Elis recorded double-digit hit totals and tied a season-high in runs to pick up the non-conference victory.

Yale improves to 5-13 overall this season and have won back-to-back non-conference games. The Peacocks fall to 7-19.

How it Happened
  • Bottom 1st | The Bulldogs left the bases loaded in the first inning.
  • Top 2nd | With a runner on third, Jon Son hit a sharp liner down the line. First baseman Alec Atkinson made a great snag to take away an extra-base hit and keep the game scoreless.
  • Bottom 3rd | Following back-to-back walks with one out, Jake Williams hit an RBI single through short and third to plate the Bulldogs' first run. Chris DiPrima reached on an error to score another run. With Williams on third, Alec Atkinson laid down a perfect safety squeeze down the first base line. Atkinson easily reached on the bunt single and earned an RBI. First year Kaiden Dossa continued the rally for the home team, knocking in a run on a single to right. The Bulldogs put up five in the inning.
  • Top 5th | Bulldogs pitchers lost command of the strike zone in the fifth. The Elis issued seven walks and conceded four runs without allowing a hit.
  • Bottom 7th | Following a leadoff single from Jeff Pierantoni, Davis Hanson doubled to deep center. Williams followed up with a sac fly. Later in the inning, Max Imhoff singled to bring home DiPrima. After a stolen base by the Bulldogs catcher, Dossa registered an RBI single to left. He later came around to score on a wild pitch to extend the hosts' lead to 10-4.
