PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Yale men's track and field team wrapped up the first day of the Larry Ellis Invitational Friday at Princeton. The Bulldogs came away with plenty of PRs and some new additions to the top 10 list at Yale. As the season ramps up and the Ivy League Championships draw near the Bulldogs are lowering their times.

• The day started strong with Thomas Cirrito in the 800 meters. in the fastest heat, he ran 1:49.05 to come away with a new PR and to move himself up Yale's all-time top 10 rankings.
• Next up in the 5000 meters Daegan Cutter fought well to just miss out on a PR, running 14:37 to place sixth in his heat. Going out of the later heat Kenan Pala, Varun Oberai and Stephen Moody fought well with Moody coming home in a time of 14:27.
• Leo Brewer (3:50) took the win in heat 1 of the 1500 in a tactical race. Closely behind in third was Brian Gamble. In the Mike Brady Elite 1500 meters Owen Karas had a stunning race to run 3:42.71 to set a new PR and move up Yale's all-time top 10 list.
• in the 3000 meter steeplechase Jack Sendek navigated a tough race well to run 9:18 and just miss out on a PR.
• The 10k was contested by Martin Riddell and Will Sheehy. Both fought well over this long distance, with Riddell working hard to run 30:48. Sheehy came home in 31:26 in his debut over this distance.            
• In the hammer throw Jake Sun and Nolan Recker both competed. Sun threw a solid 55.72 meters to just miss out on a PR, but he builds solid momentum as the season goes on.
