TEL AVIV -- Rising senior Elon Abergel (Hibat Tzionm, Israel) of the Yale men's cross country and track and field teams earned bronze in the 800m at the Israeli Athletics Championships Thursday at the Hadar Yosef Athletics Stadium in Tel Aviv. He finished third with a time of 1:53.42; the winning time was 1:48.19.      
 
In the 1500m Wednesday night Abergel finished 11th with a time of 4:00.74. The winning time was 3:41.61.
 
In addition to Israeli titles, the Championships helped determine who represents Israel at the Paris Olympics, which take place from July 26 to August 11.
