NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale sailing teams competed in another trio of regattas across the northeast this weekend as the fall season nears its close.

The women's team competed at MIT in the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship Finals. On Saturday, racing was delayed due to light wind until 1 p.m., when a southeast breeze ranging from three to eight knots filled in. On Sunday, conditions were much stronger, with a northeast breeze ranging from 10 to 22 knots.

Skipper Dorothy Mendelblatt sailed in A Division with crews Julia Miller, Sarah Moeder, and Clara Díaz Suárez, finishing fifth. Skippers Carly Kieding and Audrey Foley sailed in B Division with crews Sarah Moeder, Ashley Highland, Clara Díaz Suárez, and Julia Miller, placing seventh. The changing weather conditions prompted several crew rotations throughout the two days. Overall, the team finished sixth, with each division completing fourteen races.

The coed team traveled to King's Point, New York for the Nevins Trophy. On Saturday, the wind started out of the northeast and gradually shifted east, building from six to 10 knots to puffs of up to 12 knots by the end of the day. Due to inclement weather, racing was canceled on Sunday. Skipper Alex Adams with crew Margaret Ratzen placed 13th in A Division, while skipper Elle Sykes with crew Ella Benedetto finished third in B Division, securing sixth place overall for the team.

At Yale, three Bulldog boats competed in the Dave Perry Trophy in Branford on Saturday. The regatta featured southeast winds ranging from eight to 16 knots, and eight races were completed in the single-fleet format. Skipper Clara Díaz Suárez with crews Puiyee Kong and Beatrice Formenton placed 15th; skipper Kashi Tuteja with crew Maren Bradley placed 17th; and skipper Vincent Huang with crews Katie May and Matilda Twigg placed 18th.

Next weekend, the team will compete in the Open Atlantic Coast Championship Finals at the Naval Academy, the Yale Women's Regatta hosted at Yale, and the Oberg Trophy at MIT.
