PRINCETON, N.J. -- Three members of the Yale baseball team earned Ivy League weekly honors, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Colton Shaw was named Pitcher of the Week,
Tommy Martin earned Player of the Week accolades, and
Jack Dauer was selected as Rookie of the Week.
All three players contributed to a weekend sweep of Dartmouth, which culminated in the Bulldogs' ninth regular season Ivy League Championship in program history.
Shaw earned Pitcher of the Week laurels for the second time this season. The senior captain has one of his best games on the mound on Sunday. Shaw took a no-hitter into the eighth inning. He tossed 7.1 innings while allowing no runs and just one hit. The Texas native earned his fifth victory of the season. He ranks in the top-three in the Ivy League in wins (5), ERA (3.36), innings pitched (69.2), and strikeouts (75).
Martin had a fantastic week at the plate for the Bulldogs. The senior outfielder went 7-for-14 with three doubles and a grand slam. He drove in nine and scored five runs. Martin concluded the regular season with the top on-base percentage in the Ivy League and 31st-best in the NCAA (.506).
Dauer earned Rookie of the Week honors for the third time. The first year went 7-for-16 with two home runs, seven RBI, five runs scored, and five walks. He ranks first on the team in RBI.
The Bulldogs will host the Ivy League Tournament from May 16-19 at George H.W. Bush '48 Field. Yale will play Harvard in the first round on Friday, May 16 at 12 p.m.
