Bulldogs Win Three Major Ivy Awards; 10 Named to All-Ivy Teams

PRINCETON, N.J. – Following a historic regular season, the Yale baseball team has been honored with three major Ivy League awards, as announced by the conference on Thursday afternoon. First year Jack Ohman was selected as Pitcher of the Year, classmate Jack Dauer was awarded Rookie of the Year, and the Yale coaches were named Coaching Staff of the Year. In addition, 10 Bulldogs were named to All-Ivy teams.

Ohman was honored as the top pitcher in the Ivy League after a phenomenal regular season. The Arizona native ranks first in the NCAA with a minuscule 1.08 ERA. Ohman tossed 66.2 innings, recording a perfect 8-0 record, helping lead the Bulldogs to a share of the regular season Ivy League Championship. Ohman ranked in the top three in the conference in ERA, wins, innings pitched, opposing batting average (.162), and strikeouts (78). He won weekly conference honors on seven separate occasions this season. He is the ninth Yale pitcher to win the yearly award and the first since Brandon Josselyn in 2009. Ohman is also the only first-year player in program history to win Ivy League Pitcher of the Year honors.

Dauer earned conference Rookie of the Year accolades as the team's primary third baseman. The first-year hit .311 with five home runs and 39 runs batted in (fourth-most in the Ivy League). He also stole nine bases and scored 25 runs. Dauer is the second Yale player to win Ivy League Rookie of the Year, joining Mike Bird (1994).

The Yale coaching staff was recognized as the top staff in the conference after one of the best regular seasons in program history. The Bulldogs were picked to finish fifth in the Ivy League preseason poll and exceeded all expectations by earning a share of the conference title for the first time since 2018. Yale won 30 games for the third time in program history and earned qualification and hosting rights to the Ivy League Tournament for the first time.

In addition to Ohman and Dauer, seniors Colton Shaw and Alec Atkinson were named First Team All-Ivy selections. Shaw has been a stalwart on the mound, pitching to a 5-2 record and 3.32 ERA. He ranks in the top five in the conference in all major starting pitching categories. Shaw has earned All-Ivy laurels for the third straight season after landing a spot on the second team in 2023 and 2024. Atkinson earned First Team honors as the team's primary designated hitter. He led the team with a .344 batting average.

Jake Williams, Kaiden Dossa, and Tommy Martin earned spots on the Second Team. Williams had an outstanding year offensively as the Bulldogs' second baseman. He hit .333 with three home runs and 37 RBI. Yale center fielder Dossa was a fixture as the team's leadoff man. In addition to hitting .342 with five home runs, the sophomore currently has an on-base streak of 37 games. Martin played primarily in right field and was an on-base machine. The senior currently sports a .506 on-base percentage, which ranks first in the Ivy League and 28th in the nation.

Daniel Cohen and Tate Evans were recognized as Ivy League Honorable-Mention selections. Cohen put up great numbers as the team's third starter, pitching to a 3.92 ERA, which ranks fourth in the conference. Evans served as the Bulldogs' primary closer, pitching multiple innings in relief. He finished second in the Ivy League with a 2.74 ERA and tied for the league lead in saves (4).

Senior Jeff Pierantoni was recognized as the team's Academic All-Ivy recipient for the second consecutive year.

Yale will host the Ivy League Tournament beginning on Friday, May 16. The Bulldogs will play Harvard in the opening game at 12 p.m.
