NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- First-year attacker Kate Gould (Nyack, N.Y.) and sophomore goalkeeper Niamh Pfaff (Garden City, N.Y.) of the No. 8 Yale women's lacrosse team have been added to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List. The Tewaaraton Foundation announced 13 additions to the watch list Thursday afternoon.
 
The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top female college lacrosse player in the United States. Gould and Pfaff join senior defender Emmy Pascal (Lorton, Va.), who was on the initial watch list that was announced on Feb. 10.
 
Gould is second in the Ivy League in draw controls per game (5.67), sixth in the Ivy League in points per game (4.22), seventh in the Ivy League in assists per game (1.89) and 10th in the Ivy League in goals per game (2.33).
 
Gould is a graduate of Nyack High School.
 
Pfaff is first in the nation in goals-against average (6.14) and fifth in the nation in save percentage (.533). She has led Yale to a No. 1 national ranking in scoring defense (5.89 goals allowed per game).
 
Pfaff is a graduate of Garden City High School.
 
This was the second round of additions to the initial watch list. The Tewaaraton field will be narrowed to 25 nominees on Apr. 16. Nominees can be players from the watch list or not from the watch list, effectively allowing for a third round of additions. 
Five finalists will be announced in early May, and the recipient will be chosen after the conclusion of the collegiate lacrosse season.

Yale had four players on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List last year: Pascal, Sky Carrasquillo '25, Jenna Collignon '25 and Fallon Vaughn '25. Vaughn went on to be named a nominee.
