NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The postseason journey continues for the Yale baseball team as the Bulldogs travel west to compete in the NCAA Tournament's Eugene Regional, hosted by the University of Oregon. Yale earned the Ivy League's automatic bid after capturing the conference tournament championship on its home field last weekend.
The Bulldogs (30-13-1) enter NCAA Regional play after one of the strongest seasons in program history, winning at least 30 games for just the fourth time in program history. Yale secured its second consecutive Ivy League regular season title before winning three straight games in the Ivy League Tournament to punch its ticket to the national postseason. The Elis enter the weekend with momentum on both sides of the ball, combining timely offense with a pitching staff that has consistently delivered in big moments.
Yale will open regional play against Oregon on Friday, May 29, at PK Park in Eugene, Oregon. The double-elimination regional also features Oregon State and Washington State. The winner of the Eugene Regional advances to the NCAA Super Regionals.
The Bulldogs are making their seventh NCAA Tournament appearance in program history and their first since 2017.
Offensively, the Bulldogs have been powered throughout the season by a balanced lineup that has produced consistently from top to bottom. Yale enters regional play among the Ivy League leaders in batting average, runs scored and on-base percentage, while also showcasing aggressive baserunning and situational hitting. The Bulldogs are led by the All-Ivy quartet of
Kaiden Dossa,
Garrett Larsen, Chris DiPrima and
Jack Dauer at the top of the lineup.
On the mound, Yale has leaned on a deep pitching staff led by 2026 Ivy League Pitcher of the Year
Tate Evans and 2025 honoree
Jack Ohman. The Bulldogs' bullpen also played a critical role during the Ivy League Tournament, helping Yale close out multiple postseason victories.
The Bulldogs will square off with Oregon for the first time in program history. The Ducks (40-16) earned a regional hosting spot after another outstanding season, securing the No. 11 national seed. Oregon fell to UCLA in the Big Ten Championship Game on Sunday.
