PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Yale gymnastics team capped off a record-breaking season by posting its second-highest score of the year, 194.825, to place fourth at the GEC Championship Saturday night at Brown.
Lindsay Chia won the all-around with the highest score in the conference.
Raegan Walker won the uneven bars championship while breaking Yale's record for the highest score in school history. The team as a whole earned its highest bars score in history as well.

The Bulldogs started their meet off on the floor (48.725). Chia and
Sherry Wang had strong showings as they both scored 9.850 to tie for eighth overall. Chia had a strong routine with powerful tumbling and clean landings. Wang had an especially strong routine with difficult passes like her full twisting double back tuck.Â

Yale continued onto the vault (48.600), where some gymnasts stood out. Chia tied for the fifth-highest score (9.800) in the competition, earning second team All-GEC recognition in the process, after a solid Yurchenko full. Wang and
Aimee Titche also stood out with each getting a 9.750. Titche landed a difficult Yurchenko 1.5.

Yale's bars rotation was historic as the Bulldogs earned their highest bars score ever (49.175). Walker scored the highest individual bars score in Yale history, earning first team All-GEC recognition in the process. She had a near-perfect routine with clean handstands and high-flying releases to earn a 9.950.
Sarah Wilson and
Kendal Toy also scored strong 9.825s.Â

The team concluded the meet on the beam (48.325), where the Bulldogs had to overcome two falls. Chia (9.825) tied for the sixth-highest score in the competition, earning second team All-GEC recognition, after a solid beam routine. Highlights of her routine included a strong back handspring layout step out.
Emma Mangiacapre, Seina Cho and
Riley Meeks did not fall far behind with 9.800s.

Chia's all-around score earned her first team All-GEC honors. Wilson's all-around score of 38.400 placed her fifth and earned her second team All-GEC recognition.

Penn (196.950) won the inaugural GEC Championship. The competition was split into two sessions, with the Bulldogs competing in the night session as one of the top four teams in the GEC rankings.
The conference also
announced its major awards Saturday night. Chia was named Gymnast of the Year, interim head coach
Andy Leis was named Head Coach of the Year, assistant coach
Morgan Ross was named Assistant Coach of the Year and Wang was named co-Newcomer of the Year.

Yale will next compete in the USAG Collegiate Nationals next month.
