NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's track and field team is ready for the 2026 outdoor season, which starts Friday at UCF's Black and Gold Challenge. The Bulldogs have 11 meets before the championship season starts with the Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Princeton on May 16 and 17. The NCAA East First Round takes place in Kentucky May 27 and May 29. The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships take place in Oregon on June 10 and 12. 
 
Here is a look at the Bulldogs, event by event:
 
Distance/Middle Distance

• The distance and middle distance group includes seniors Tanish Chettiar, Owen Karas, Braden King, Alex Mader, Kenan Pala and Will Sheehy; juniors Antonio Bravo, Daegan Cutter, Jack Diaz, Amaré Fields, Brian Gamble, Ronan Luff, Caden Montini, Benny Seidman, Guy Stevens and Liam Sullivan; sophomores Max Bishop, Lucas Cohen, Connor Hom, Keeran Murray, Matthew Schutzbank and Seb Sutch; and first-years Alden Collier, Magnus Manley, Sean McNulty, Remy Strichartz, William Strong and James Thomas.
  • Karas is Yale's record holder in the 1500m (3:37.52) and advanced to the quarterfinals in that event at the NCAA East First Round last year. He ranks third on Yale's all-time list in the 800m (1:48.30). James Stack set the school record in 1960 (1:47.41c). Karas is fifth on Yale's all-time list in the 5K (14:05.79). Leo Brewer '25 set the school record last year (13:50.23).
  • Cutter is sixth on Yale's all-time list in the 10K (20:38.86).
  • Gamble ranks 10th all-time at Yale in the 1500m (3:45.20).

 
Sprints

• The sprints group includes seniors Mason Evans and Andrew Farr (Yale's captain); juniors Lucas Mylon and Finnegan Quinn; sophomores Camden Hickox, Otis Irwin and Otis Knapper; and first-years Graham Houghton, Ethan Johnson and Jozef Miesak.

 
Hurdles

• The hurdles group includes first-years Max Englert and Aiden Martinez.

 
Jumps

• The jumps group includes senior Brian Di Bassinga; junior Jamaal Darlington; sophomore Orion Browne; and first-years Jake Chu and Ben Goldwyn.
  • Di Bassinga is third on Yale's all-time list in the triple jump (15.15m). Browne is 10th (14.45m).

 
Pole Vault 

• Senior Elliot Wessel represents Yale in the pole vault.

 
Throws

• The throws group includes seniors Nolan Recker and Jake Sun; juniors Chu Anueyiagu and Nathan Lebowitz; sophomore Tanner Boulden; and first-year Alexander Johnson.
  • Recker ranks second all-time at Yale in the hammer throw (60.05m). Jim Driscoll '87 set the school record in 1987 (69.55m).
  • Sun ranks fourth all-time at Yale in the hammer throw (58.04m).
  • Lebowitz ranks fifth all-time at Yale in the discus throw (54.69m). He competed in that event at the NCAA East First Round last year.

 
Multi

• First-year Zack Warren represents Yale in the multi events.

 
Relays

• Multiple current Bulldogs have been part of significant relay performances.
  • Gamble and Karas were part of the 4x800m relay team that ranks third on Yale's all-time list (7:24.84). They also were part of the 4xMile relay team that ranks second on Yale's all-time list (16:34.34).
  • Farr was part of the 4x400m relay team that ranks seventh on Yale's all-time list (3:11.23).
