Donald Dell followed up his Yale diploma with a degree from the University of Virginia Law School. Upon graduation, he served as a trial lawyer and a political aid to Robert F. Kennedy. It was eight years after his graduation that he began to leave an indelible mark on the world of professional sports.

The captain of the undefeated 1959-1960 Yale tennis team Dell also captained the United States Davis Cup team to consecutive World Championships in 1968 and 1969. After that experience, he used his legal background to represent professional tennis players Arthur Ashe and Stan Smith, and establish the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and Pro-Serv - a leader in the sports marketing industry. Over the course of his career, Dell has negotiated nearly $1 billion in sponsorships and endorsements, including the naming rights to FedEx Stadium with the Washington Redskins.

Dell is currently the Group President at Lagardere Unlimited and the author of two books, “Minding Other People’s Business” and “Never Make the First Offer”.  He was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in July 2009.
