After graduation Embersits attended Harvard Business School, graduating in 1960.  He returned to Yale in 1966 as Vice President for University Operations, Chief Business Officer and a member of the Yale Corporation.  After ten years he resigned from the Yale administration to become CEO of the Welsbach Corporation.  In 1977 he co-founded the Facilities Resource Management Company and led the company for the next 21 years until selling it to the Aramark Corporation in 1998.

Embersits’ civic and alumni contributions were numerous.  He was secretary of the Yale class of 1958, a board member of the Yale Football Association, a founding father of Yale Youth Hockey and chairman of Blue Leadership Ball Honors committee and alumni chair of the inaugural event in 2001.  Additionally, he served on the boards of the Union Trust Company, the New Haven Water Company, the United Way of New Haven and the New Haven Chamber of Commerce.
