After leaving New Haven, Wolfe served in the United States Navy from 1962-1965, a moment in his life that he is very proud of. Shortly after his service concluded, Wolfe started his long and productive career with The Hershey Company.

Wolfe’s journey with The Hershey Company started in 1967 as an Assistant Treasurer. Over the next 25 years, he grew his career within the company serving as Chief Financial Officer; President and Chief Operating Officer and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

In addition, Wolfe was elected to the Board of Directors of the Hershey Trust Company and the Board of Managers of the Milton Hershey school, a school that believes every child should receive a top-notch education, regardless of their financial circumstances. Wolfe served on these boards until his retirement in 2001, after helping Hershey experience its highest growth rates.

Wolfe, who received the Legends in Leadership Award in 2003 from the Yale school of Management, served on other boards including the MS Hershey Foundation, Bausch & Lomb Inc, Carpenter Technology Corporation, Penn State’s Hershey Medical Center, Grocery Manufacturers of America, Pennsylvania Business Roundtable, and the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry.
